My brilliant sister has finally got her website going! Everyone who knows me knows that Ryan ALWAYS has pretties in her hair. My sister is credited with making most of these. I have always laughed because she got her start selling her clips out of a little cardboard box to the mom's at her daughter's dance studio. I went with her once and it was hilarious to see the mom's swarm. It was like she had a box of drugs and the cash started flying! After her and I went to LA last February, she put her clips in a showroom in LA and has started selling to stores. She is so creative and is always telling me about the super cute new clip she just made.
Anyways a lot of you have asked if she had a website or somewhere you can see her clips. I must warn you, so far the pictures don't give them justice, but she's working on that. Also, she can do just about anything and is willing to do custom orders. Her website is just a sampling of some of her best sellers.

Do you need a good photographer?

If you've heard of Stephanie and Christian Neilson, the couple in the airplane crash in AZ two months ago, they had an AMAZING photographer by the name of Wendy Whitacre. She took all the photos that have been on the news and various blogs. Wendy owns Blue Lily Photography based in Temecula, CA and is trying to put together a trip to come to Seattle to do some sessions. If anyone is interested, check out her website here. If you're concerned about rain, here is Wendy's comment on an email she sent: One of my main concerns is weather. I've shot in the rain before and honestly, those are some of my more striking and dramatic pictures. But I don't know if you'd all feel ok with shooting in the rain, if it came down to that. I obviously won't be able to reschedule, since I'm traveling and everything, so I'd need to meet rain or shine.

Oh Canada!

In November of 2005 our little family of three set off for Halifax, Nova Scotia. Troy was on assignment there for what turned out to be 3 months of testing on the Apache Helicopter. While there we were "living" in the Residence Inn and became very close with the hotel staff. They were definitely our "home away from home"! They spoiled us rotten and took fabulous care of us. Every morning after breakfast Ryan would wander into the GM's (Frank) office to say good morning. We went to my first Canadian hockey game with Angela and Kelli. One of the girls who worked in housekeeping, Jackie, even babysat for us one night when the hospital sent us out on a date. It was seriously one of the best experiences of my life. I have NEVER met such amazing people. More than anything, seeing how they all loved Ryan was the best.

This past week Angela, who is now the GM of the Residence Inn, came to Seattle for a training course. We were able to meet up on Sunday to hang out and have dinner and then we met up again last night. Luckily last night I remembered to charge my camera battery! It was so great to see Angela and have her meet Peyton. Peyton is almost the same age Ryan was when we were in Canada. Ryan was constantly walking next to Angela and holding her hand. She sat by her at dinner and Angela even taught her how to do word searches! Peyton took right to her, she would run up to Angela and hold up her arms and Angela would happily oblige by picking her up.
It's so nice that no matter how much time passes, we have built these friendships that will last! Thanks Angela for taking the time out of your busy schedule to spent time with us. Ryan was talking last night about how much she's going to miss you!
